# Best Camping Outdoor Rugs Source: https://carcamppicks.com/best/best-camping-outdoor-rugs Updated: 2026-09-15 Publisher: Car Camp Picks. Our score is an editorial rating out of 10 (fit 35%, features 25%, build 20%, value 20%), not a customer rating. Method: https://carcamppicks.com/how-we-research#our-score A camping outdoor rug is a weatherproof mat you lay outside the tent or under an awning to create a clean, defined living area at your site. It helps car campers keep sand, mud, and grass out of the tent and gives bare feet a more comfortable surface. When choosing one, size it to the space you want to cover, whether a tent doorway or a full seating area. Look for reversible, mildew-resistant material that shakes clean and dries fast, plus stakes or loops to keep it from blowing away. A design that folds compactly stores easily in the trunk. Breathable, plastic-weave rugs handle dirt and moisture well and hold up to repeated outdoor use. ## Picks ### 1.
